Pelvic ultrasound imaging

The purpose of the ultrasound as an examination method is to visualise the structures of the pelvic floor, vagina, cervix, uterus and uterine cavity and the lesser pelvis and their abnormalities.

Pelvic ultrasound imaging helps to assess the size of the genitals, their structure, to identify or to confirm the absence of possible tumours, to evaluate the contours of the bladder and the volume of residual urine, and to assess the tissues surrounding the bladder.
